4 Rules to Keep Kids Safe While Jumping On a Bounce House

Kids in a party love to eat chocolate and cake. They love to get involved in games and other fun activities. However, they do not care much about their personal safety. Kids are too young to know that it is not safe to hide behind or in a wardrobe. They know that parties are not hosted round the year. Therefore, they just want to enjoy this time to fullest and have fun. It is the parents’ job to ensure the safety of kids at the party venue.

Parents do consider every safety measure they can. They hire furniture for parties that are safe. Still, parents have to keep an eye on kids playing and prancing here and there, jumping on the bounce house or a jumping castle. There are only a few kids who can resist a bounce. It introduces the real fun to a kid’s party. However, the risks of injuries associated with the bounce are also not hidden. Arms and legs are the most commonly injured body parts. Kids having age between 4 and 15 are more likely to suffer from injuries due to falls. The absence of adult surveillance is one of the major reasons behind these injuries. If hiring a jumping bounce house is a part of your party plan, you have to keep following safety rules in mind.

Anchor at the Right Place

This is an important rule that is usually ignored. No doubt adult surveillance is important, but the location also matters. The bounce should be anchored in an open space. There should be no wall or fence around the bounce. Plus, it should not be anchored on a cemented floor. Anchor it securely on the ground. Deflate it when the speed of winds is more than 20 miles per hour.

Do Not Let Kids of Different Age Groups Jump Together

A bounce house fully packed with teens is not safe for a four years old kid. It is needless to say that a 12 years old kid falling on a 4 years old kid will definitely injure the younger one. Therefore, divide kids into different groups according to their age and size.

Keep a Constant Eye on Kids

A kid can get trapped underneath the net. There might be a hole in the bouncy house and a kid may fall through it and you may not be able to hear his screaming. A kid may fall off the bounce. An adult should be present there to help that kid.

Beware! The Bouncy House May Deflate unexpectedly

Kids may get trapped under the falling folds of the bounce house when it deflates unexpectedly. This usually happens when the cord is accidently unplugged or the power is lost.

Therefore, if you are hiring a bounce house, do not forget to follow these safety rules.
